If you've been undecided on buying Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, then you're in luck, because a demo has just dropped for all major platforms. Console users can head to their storefronts while those of you who play on PC can head to Steam.
Set in an abandoned village plagued by vengeful spirits, you take control of twin sisters who repel and seal away those spirits with a special camera: Camera Obscura. Whilst the visuals and audio have been greatly improved, much of the core gameplay remains the same. However, there has been a new mechanic added to the game: hand holding. The developers describe it like this: "In addition, the new "Holding Hands with Mayu" mechanic adds a heartfelt touch, letting you experience the deep bond between the sisters like never before."
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake releases on the 12th of March 2026.
